Understanding Precision Farming
Precision farming is the process of using technology to optimise the efficiency and productivity of the agriculture industry. Currently, GPS and computers are used during the application of seeds and fertiliser, whilst satellites monitor the crops remotely.
The origins of precision farming can be traced back to the 1980s in the United States of America. However, the implementation of precision farming has accelerated in the past 10 years thanks to mobile technology.
